Platte County Court Dockets

Platte County court records in Missouri are available through several channels. PlatteCourt.us allows you to search for public information about court cases in the county. Additionally, records can be found through the online portal Missouri Courts, directly at the Circuit Clerk's office in Platte City, and at public terminals in the courthouse.

Platte Court System & Jurisdictions

Platte County is part of the 6th Judicial Circuit of Missouri. The Circuit Court is a court of general jurisdiction that handles virtually all categories of cases. It is divided into several divisions.

  • Circuit Division — handles serious criminal cases (felonies), large civil claims, and appeals from municipal courts.
  • Associate Division — deals with misdemeanors, traffic violations, small civil claims (small claims up to $5,000), and preliminary hearings in criminal cases.
  • Family Court — cases of divorce, child custody, adoption, protective orders, and other family matters.
  • Probate Division — estate management, appointment of guardians, cases involving individuals with limited capacity.

In addition to the Circuit Court, municipal courts operate within the county. For example, the Riverside Municipal Court and the Parkville Municipal Court handle city ordinance violations — from parking fines to minor offenses. These courts are part of the 6th Judicial Circuit but maintain their own case records.

If you are interested in a statewide criminal history, use the Missouri Automated Criminal History Site (MACHS). The total cost of a fingerprint-based check is $44.00.

Platte Court Calendar & Upcoming Hearings

The schedule of the Platte County Circuit Court is published through the state's centralized system. To find out which hearings are scheduled for today, tomorrow, or this week:

  1. Go to the Missouri Courts website.
  2. Use the Case Search function, selecting the 6th Judicial Circuit — Platte County.
  3. Enter the case number or party's last name to see scheduled hearing dates.

Municipal courts publish their schedules separately. The Parkville Court, in particular, allows you to pay a fine or submit a plea online by finding the case using the receipt number through the Missouri Courts portal. The Riverside Court posts hearing information on its website.

Public terminals in the courthouse in Platte City also allow you to view the current hearing calendar without prior registration.
